The demo: what's in it and whether progress carries over

Updated · Launch

Quick answer

The October 2026 demo is still on Steam until launch (PC only). It has six champions, the Imperial Bastion (Tyranids) and Great Parch (Skaven) stages, and runs that end when the Extremis Boss arrives at about 25 minutes. Progress does not carry over — Auroch's Oct 6 post: progression from the previous demo doesn't carry to this one, "nor will demo progress transfer to the full game release".

Demo history

Known demo complaints

Auto-aiming weapons (Auroch: by design, some aim and some don’t), inaccessible chests (fixed for launch), and “is it just Vampire Survivors reskinned” — the official FAQ answers that it’s a standalone game built with poncle, with content made from scratch.

FAQ

Does demo progress carry over to the full game?

No. Auroch says it won't, and progress from the May demo didn't carry into the October demo either.

Is the demo on PS5, Xbox or Switch?

No. The demo is Steam only (it's also playable on Steam Deck).

Is the demo gone?

The first demo was delisted on July 22, 2026. The October demo is live on the Steam page until launch; if you claimed the old one it stays in your library.

What changed in the October demo?

Two new champions (Legend of Catachan, Lyssa Revenya), new weapons, cross-universe meta-progression (maxing upgrades in one universe slightly boosts the other), rebalanced enemies and waves, skippable sequences.
