Status effects and how they combine

Updated · Mechanics

Quick answer

Burning: fire damage over time but the enemy moves faster. Poisoned: poison over time and the enemy slows. Oiled (from Nuln Oil): slows and makes the target take more fire damage — the intended combo is Nuln Oil + any Burning weapon. Berserk / Frenzied: more damage, health and speed (enemies via Synapse or the Waaagh!, you via the Frenzon pick-up). Stunned: no movement, but attacks continue. Warded: Skaven near the Bell of Doom get tougher. Healing: regeneration over time, for enemies and champions.

Feature Focus: Status Effects — Burning, Poisoned, Oiled and the Nuln Oil combo · Video by Auroch Digital (official) on YouTube

The seven effects

Effect On enemies On you Sources of it
Burning Fire DoT, faster movement — Fire weapons, Ravenak’s Gnashing Jaws
Poisoned Poison DoT, slower Poison DoT Hellfire Ammo (you inflict); Death Guard, Globadiers (on you)
Oiled Slows, takes more fire damage — Nuln Oil
Berserk / Frenzied More damage, HP, speed Attack more often Synapse, Waaagh! (enemies); Frenzon pick-up (you)
Stunned Can’t move, can still attack — Suffocating Gravetide; killing a Synapse creature
Warded Tougher — Skaven Bell of Doom
Healing Regenerates Regenerates Beasts of Nurgle stop to heal; some pick-ups

The combo Auroch keeps pointing at

Nuln Oil → Oiled → any Burning weapon. Oiled slows the target (cancelling Burning’s speed-up) and raises fire damage. Nuln Oil is cross-universe, so the combo works in both rosters.

FAQ

Does Burning make enemies faster?

Yes — Auroch warns that burning enemies panic and move faster, while poisoned enemies slow down. Pair fire with a slow or a stun.

Can my champion be poisoned?

Yes. Death Guard auras and attacks poison the player; Acolyte Globadiers' clouds do too. Some enemies are immune to certain effects.

Is Berserk the same as Frenzied?

Auroch uses both words for the same buff (more damage, health and speed; faster attacks for the player).
